Bobo Digital came to me for a brand refresh. They wanted a new look and feel that would sit nicely within the online realm but stand out as something different. The brief was to create an authentic identity that gives bold, but simple. Bobo wanted to focus on gaining trust from clients making things like paid search, google analytics, adwords, facebook advertising feel less overwhelming and more of a simple solution for busy business owners. Using shapes gives a visual simplification of the jargon and complexities of digital marketing - it also works as a double meaning of sorts. When ideating I couldn’t get the “square peg in a round hole” idiom out of my head, and it felt perfect for this identity - being an online brand in a big online world that just needs to stand out.

After many logo iterations, Bobo settled on the biggest and boldest. It’s a logo that uses the simplicity of shapes to stand out. The shapes were expanded into the identity, used as icons, symbolism and patterns. Creating a simple system of shapes also meant Bobo could take this identity and create new patterns with the shapes themselves. I also developed a tone of voice that dropped the seriousness of traditional digital marketing speak, gaining trust with fun-relatable headlines.
